Universal's new 'ScreenPlay' app available for download

The new augmented reality app called ‘Universal ScreenPlay’ allows guests to interact with their iPhone’s and Android devices in parks like never before.  The app is free in both the Google Play Store and the Apple App store.  Some of the features of the app include:

  • 3D experiences with your favorite Universal movies
  • Compete with their friends in gameplay
  • Unlock awards and special content
  • Create virtual postcards with some of your favorite Universal characters and then share then on Facebook and Twitter.

Universal suggests that you download the app via WiFi at first before visiting the park.  Signs are located throughout the park that feature the augmented reality.  The app is currently only available at Universal Orlando, but does have plans to expand it to others.
