Universal Orlando has owned the waterpark Wet ‘N Wild in Orlando for a number of years. But they have owned the park, not the land the park sits on. Universal Orlando reportedly paid $30.9 million for the land for possible future development. No word on what Universal plans on doing with the waterpark, if anything but continuing to add to the already abundance of waterslides and flumes.
“We are pleased with Wet ‘n Wild as a component of our business, and this purchase was a natural step for us,” Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said.
Wet N’ Wild attracted nearly 1.2 million guests last year, coming in second place to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, who had 2.1 million guests through its gates last year.
