Work is underway to get Kentucky Kingdom ready for opening next year

Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay set to reopen next year

Kentucky Kingdom will be opening up next year for the 2014 season for the first time since 2010.  The park is removing the classic Schwarzkopf drop weight launched roller coaster Greeezed Lightning to make way for a new $7 million roller coaster that will take its place.  Greezed Lightning is being disassembled and stored away and will be available for another park to purchase and use.

The ferris wheel cars are being buffed and shined, the wave pool was filled for the first time in years over at Splashwater Kingdom to check for leaks, all in preparation for the parks grand opening on May 24, 2014.
