The Wizard of Oz park in North Carolina that was opened from 1970 to 1980 will be opening it s doors this weekend on October 5th and 6th for the 20th anniversary of “Autumn at Oz”.  The park only opens once a year and acts as a reunion location for previous employees of the park and past guests.  The owner of the park passed away in 1975, which eventually lead to the park closing its doors for good in 1980.  The park featured a show at Emerald City and  a balloon ride, which was actually a modified ski lift.

So if you are in the area of the  Beech Mountain’s, swing by and give this historic park a visit.
