Even with all of the Blackfish backlash, SeaWorld sets attendance record for 2013

SeaWorld announced today that the park had record attendance and revenue for the fourth quarter of 2013.  SeaWorld said they are expecting to post revenue of $1.46 billion for 2013.  The park will know its fourth quarter earnings in March 2014.

In addition the great holiday events that proved so popular last month, we have launched our year-long celebration of SeaWorld’s 50th anniversary,” President & Chief Executive Officer Jim Atchison said. “…As strong as last year was for us, we are looking forward to another great year in 2014.”

This comes after the parks have suffered at the hands of the 2013 film, Blackfish.  Many artists performing at the parks annual Bands, Brews and BBQ event have dropped out of the event due to pressure from their fans.
