High Roller giant wheel opens in Las Vegas

High Roller giant wheel opens in Las Vegas

Las Vegas now owns the title of having the world’s highest observation Ferris wheel.  The new giant wheel, built by Caesar Entertainment, opened Monday on the Las Vegas strip.

High Roller is the name of this latest attraction Las Vegas, and it stands 550 feet at its highest point.  One ride on the High Roller will set you back $24.95 per ride.

“It’s really an art piece on the Las Vegas skyline, from the dynamic lighting sequences to the overall engineering and architecture that it adds to the skyline,” said John Gray, who is the vice president and general manager of The LINQ, the entertainment district where the wheel is located in Vegas.

Once the High Roller was completed, it stood nearly 100 feet taller than the London Eye. The giant wheel consists of 28 cars that hold 40 people, and it takes 30 minutes for a full rotation.

Not to be outdone though, Dubai is planning a giant wheel of their own, which is reported to reach a maximum height of 689-feet.

We will be getting our own giant wheel here in Orlando.  Check out the status of it here in our latest construction update.
