According to an article issued by USA Today, The Walking Dead will be returning to Horror Nights at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida.
“The Walking Dead is a once in a lifetime horror property,” says John Murdy, who is the creative director of Universal Studios Hollywood. “It transcends the typical boundaries of traditional movies or television shows. It appeals to everyone. The show keeps zombies in the zeitgeist of American pop culture.”
Michael Aiello, who is the creative development director for Universal Orlando Resort, said “I’ll put it into context — we have never brought back any property for Horror Nights. But this is the third year for Walking Dead.”
According to the article, Universal Orlando will have the largest maze built in Halloween Horror Nights history, double the size of a normal Horror Nights maze. This one will feature scenes from the prison and a “dilapidated country club,” which has been overtaken by walkers.
Halloween Horror Nights Orlando begins on September 19 and runs through November 1. For more information, visit the official HHN website here.
