Disney announced today via their official blog that they will be bringing a bunch of new Tower of Terror merchandise next year to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The new merchandise will be part of the “Hollywood Tower Hotel Authentic” art program.
David Soliman, who is the Franchise and Brand assistant for Disney Theme Park Merchandise, gave a preview of what to expect with this new Tower of Terror art program.
“In early 2015, new merchandise will be coming to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attractions in both Florida and California,” explained David. “We loved what was done with the ‘Haunted Mansion Authentic’ art program, and thought we could apply similar merchandise design philosophies to another classic Disney attraction. The Disney Design Group team did an amazing job creating the artwork which will be used on a variety of apparel items, souvenirs, home goods and more.”
Graphic designer Tyler Dumas from Disney Design Group has also been working on the project for about a year. This new artwork is best described as what merchandise would look like when the Hollywood Tower Hotel was in its prime.
Randy Noble, Richard Terpstra, Caley Hicks and Fabiola Garza Villalobos were other artists who also contributed to the new “Hollywood Tower Hotel Authentic” art program.
Disney will be sharing more details about what specific merchandise guests can expect with this new Tower of Terror artwork in the coming months.
