A cable that connects to one of the two cars on Cedar Point’s SkyHawk, a giant swing attraction that swings guests 125 feet into the air, snapped late Saturday night causing injuries to two guests.  One guest was treated at the park while the other was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The incident happened at about 10 P.M. Saturday night at the park.  Spokesman Bryan Edwards said in a statement that “Safety is our top priority at Cedar Point,” and that “Skyhawk will remain closed until our investigation is complete and the ride can safely reopen.”

SkyHawk has been plagued with issues since it opened back in 2006.  The attraction suffered from many mechanical issues that required special parts.

We will keep you posted if we hear more about the incident.
