LEGOLAND Florida continues to add experienced business leaders with the addition of Rex Jackson as the Park’s new Marketing Director. Jackson joins LEGOLAND Florida after spending the last five years as Marketing Director at Darden Restaurants in Orlando, Fla., bringing his experience to a leadership team that creates memorable family experiences for guests visiting LEGOLAND Florida from around the world. He will lead all marketing, communication, advertising and sales efforts of the Park, including the unveiling of the LEGOLAND Hotel in 2015.
“We are happy to add someone of Rex’s stature to lead our marketing team here at LEGOLAND Florida,” said LEGOLAND Florida General Manager Adrian Jones. “Rex brings a wealth of experience from his time at Darden and Procter & Gamble, and we are looking forward to him being part of our management team.”
Jackson most recently served as Marketing Director of Olive Garden, working on the reinvention of the brand’s equity and positioning leading to the launch of a comprehensive communications plan inclusive of a new logo, digital platform and advertising campaign. Prior to Darden, the University of Illinois alum served in a variety of roles from 2004 – 2009 on Procter & Gamble’s iconic brand Tide. His accomplishments on Tide include the development of the 2008 Super Bowl and Cannes Lions award-winning TV spot for Tide to Go and the launch plan and in-market execution for Tide Boost, Tide’s line extension into the stain remover category.
“I’m ecstatic to join the team here,” Jackson said. “LEGOLAND has a tradition of quality entertainment, and with our hotel opening in 2015, the Resort is going to expand into a multi-day destination providing families even more opportunities to fuel their imaginations around interactive, LEGO-themed fun.”
Jackson currently resides in Orlando, Fla., and is a proud father of two daughters, who are also big LEGOLAND Florida fans. When asked who was most excited for him to join the LEGOLAND Florida team, Jackson quickly replied “No question, my daughters!”
