Earlier this afternoon Transformers: The Ride had to be evacuated after having technical difficulties.  One of the EVAC cars was stuck in the elevator shaft that raises and lowers the ride to the second floor of the attraction and was not accessible by Universal Team Members, so the Orange County Fire Department had to be called to evacuate the riders stuck on the elevator platform.

According to guests on board, the ride was stuck for over an hour until rescue crews arrived.  All guests were safely evacuated by 12:30PM.

Before everyone freaks out about these recent “incidents” at the local theme parks, such as this and the monorail incident earlier this week at Walt Disney World, let me tell you that these rides shut down for a reason.  They are extremely safe and perform the way they are suppose to in cases like this.
