Cedar Point has announced that after making a bet that if LeBron James returns to Ohio, they will rename one of their coasters after LeBron James.  As we all know LeBron did return to Ohio with the Cavaliers.  So the ball was in Cedar Point’s court to live up to the bet.

And today they have announced the partnership that will begin next summer with kids who are active in the  “Wheels for Education” program and Akron I PROMISE Network.  The event is called “I PROMISE Family Reunion” event and features families from around the country spending a day at Cedar Point and enjoying all the park has to offer.

Cedar Point will also be holding a ride auction with 100% of the proceeds going to the LeBron James Family Foundation.

“We are thrilled to have formed this partnership with LeBron and his foundation,” said Jason McClure, vice president and general manager for Cedar Point. “It’s great when two world-class organizations can come together for the benefit of kids, their education and their families.”

Nothing was mentioned on whether or not Mantis closing will be involved with the LeBron partnership or what coaster will be renamed.  But for those that don’t know, Mantis is closing on October 19.
