It looks like the next Disney attraction to go to the scrapyard will be The Studio Backlot Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  The attraction will close its doors for good on September 27, 2014.

There have been many rumors as to what will replace the Backlot Tour once it closes, from a Star Wars land to Cars land similar to Disney’s California Adventure’s version.  Nothing has been officially announced by Disney as to what will be replacing the Tour once it closes at the end of this month.

The Studios Backlot tour opened back in 1989 and featured many scenes, vehicles and other behind the scenes sets that guests normally don’t see during a Hollywood production.  The residential house section was demolished back in 2005 to make way for Lights, Motors, Action! Stunt Show.

This is the latest attraction announced to be closing at Walt Disney World.  As many know, the Maelstrom attraction at Epcot will be closing on October 5 to make way for a new “Frozen” themed ride.

Are you sad to see some of these classic attractions leave?  Or are you ready for something new?
