Legoland California has announced that a Death Star replica will be coming to its expanding Star Wars Miniland attraction.  The Death Star will stand 6 feet wide and consist of tens of thousands of pieces and will make its debut on March 5.  Several scenes from within the Death Star will also be recreated, such as the scene where Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca are trapped in a giant trash compactor within the Death Star.

Legoland also announced that a new area called Heartlake City will be coming to the park as well in 2015.  It will be based off the LEGO series Friends, which focuses on five girls and their personalities.  The new area will feature the parks first carousel and will be located in DUPLO Village, an area dedicated to the younger LEGO fans.

“It’s so popular with our guests, and people are always asking how are you going to add the Death Star?” said Legoland spokeswoman Julie Estrada. “Because it’s such a huge part of the Star Wars films, guests were asking for it. ‘How come we don’t see it,’ they’d ask.”
