Earlier this week Disney unveiled their details for their 60th anniversary Diamond Celebration. The park will be adding a bunch of new entertainment options, including a new parade, new nighttime fireworks and more.
The park unveiled the artwork today to go along with the 60th anniversary. These new pieces of art will appear on more than ore than 500 merchandise items throughout the Disneyland Resort.
Disney Design Group Creative Manager Cody Reynolds is behind these new artwork pieces and talks about them in more detail over on the Disney Parks Blog.
There will be a total of three collections. The first one being called the ‘Character’ collection. The palette is retro in style but has a slightly modern twist,” said Cody.
The ‘Character’ collection (pictured above) focuses on the history of the attractions and the characters that have been featured in Disneyland.
The ‘Castle’ collection features blue and silver hues throughout the artwork and catches the elegance of the Diamond Celebration. “We wanted to capture the heart of Disneyland and the love that so many people have for it,” said Cody.
And the ‘Diamond’ collection will feature simple black, gray and silver tones. “We wanted to create a line based on the shape and qualities of an actual diamond, multi-faceted, unique and endlessly reflective,” says Cody.
Disney also unveiled a new set of pins featuring Walt Disney moments and quotes that will be released beginning January 31 through July 2015. Click here to find out what will be featured on the inside of these collectible pins.
