Woman struck in leg by bullet at Busch Gardens Tampa during New Year’s Eve

A woman celebrating New Year’s Eve at Busch Gardens Tampa was hit with a stray bullet Wednesday evening celebrating New Year’s Eve.

Kaitlyn Jacobs was sitting in the Gwazi pavilion when she was struck by the bullet at around 11:50 P.M.  The woman was cared for by Busch Gardens Medical Services and was eventually transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, according to police reports.

The gun was most likely fired off property not at the park according to officials.

It is illegal to fire your firearm into the air for any circumstance.  The offense is punishable by a maximum sentence of a year in jail.
