Darien Lake has announced that they are getting Rolling Thunder, a 7-story steel loop flat ride manufactured by Larson International that sends riders 10 revolutions per minute on a dizzying ride. The train can hold 32 passengers at a time.
Also coming to Darien Lake is Brain Drain, a a 70-foot-high waterslide that sends riders on a 38-foot-per-second free fall. After riders enter an enclosed “vertical launch capsule.” Similar to Ihu’s Breakaway Falls at Aquatica. There are two slide lanes, each 333 feet in length.
Darien Lake is calling this expansion a “multi-million” dollar investment but did not announce an exact figure.
Both of these attractions are scheduled to be open by the parks opening day, May 9.
