Family walking from Disneyland to Walt Disney World in honor of late daughter
The Cobb family is walking from Disneyland to Disney World in honor of their late daughter Julia Cobb who lost her life from a rare form of bone cancer at just 8 years old.
The family consists of Jonathan Cobb and his wife Jennifer and their 3 kids: Jonathan, Jenna and Jaxie.
The family has had their fair share of cancer in the family with both Jonathan and Jennifer losing their mothers to cancer. Jonathan himself also had cancer and had to pass the word to his daughter Julia.
Julia fought for a year and a half and even had a stem cell transplant that was almost deemed a success.
“One of the Doctors said ‘You know, Julia never got a Make-A-Wish trip and I said ‘no’ and he said ‘Well that’s not okay. Let’s send her on her Make-A-Wish.’ So we ended up going to Walt Disney World in Orlando and we had the best week of our lives,” Jennifer said.
Julia fell ill at the end of the 7-day trip to Disney World and passed away 24 hours later.
They began their journey in August of 2014 and plan to be arriving at Walt Disney World by the end of May or early June.
The family takes breaks while one drives the Suburban and the others walk. The kids are being schooled on the road as they travel according to the family.
