13 people were rescued from the Green Lantern ride at Warner Bros Movie World after it malfunctioned Sunday.

The ride reportedly began having issues around 1 PM due to “an issue with a wheel.”  Firefighters arrived on the scene at approximately 1:10 to begin removing the riders from the attraction.

One car with 7 people in it was unloaded quickly while the other train that was stuck was in a much more difficult position for rescuers to get to.  It took rescuers three and a half hours to remove them from the ride vehicle.  All were safely escorted off the ride.

Movie World announced that the ride will be inspected by both Movie World and the ride manufacturers, which in this case is S&S Worldwide.  The ride will remain closed until a “thorough” investigation takes place.
