Star Wars D-Tech Me was introduced back in 2012 as a way of allowing Star Wars fans to put their face on a Star Wars character figurine of their choice. The technology was invented by Disney Imagineers and allows you to choose a Star Wars figure and then place your own face in it utilizing a high-resolution 3D printer.
The initial launch included a Alderaan Princess figurine, and male and female options for Stormtrooper and X-Wing pilot figurines.
Disney announces today that they will be adding a TIE Fighter Pilot and a Jedi Knight to the mix. The Carbon-Freeze Me and Alderaan Princess will also be available for the young ones as well.
The 7-inch figures are $119.95 each, plus shipping and applicable sales tax. The 16-inch figures will set you back a whopping $999.95. But that is a small price to pay for an action figure with your face on it, right?
Once ordered, the figures will take 6-8 weeks to arrive at your front door.
You can call 407-WDW-TECH (407-939-8324) starting March 26 to schedule your appointment today. The opportunity will only be available during Star Wars Weekends 2015 (May 15 – 17, May 22-24, May 29-31, June 5-7, and June 12-14). If you are attending the Galactic Gathering event, you will be among the first to D-Tech Me this year.
