The Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is already opened at Disneyland, but the new Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World has yet to open its doors to guests.
Disney gave us a glimpse (above photo) of what the new bar will look like once it opens later next month.
This new location will have similarities to its west coast counterpart and some new additions as well.
Here are some drink similarities and differences between the two:
Only at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto:
- Polynesian Pearl
- Castaway Crush
- Tahitian Torch
- Dark & Tropical Stormy
Favorites imported from Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar:
- Krakatoa Punch
- Shrunken Zombie Head
As far as the food goes, the hicken lettuce cups with hoisin ginger sauce and the Hawaiian poke with Sriracha aioli and wonton chips were inspired by the Trader Sam’s menu at Disneyland. The kalua pork tacos with shredded cabbage and pickled vegetables; pan-fried dumplings with soy-sesame dipping sauce; roasted chicken and pork pâté bánh mì sliders with pickled vegetables; salmon oshizushi (press sushi); corn-battered Portuguese sausages with curry ketchup and a Headhunter Sushi Roll are new to the Walt Disney World Resort menu.
There are a total of 50 seats inside and 82 on the patio at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. No reservations are required.
An official opening date has not yet been announced, alls we know is that it will open in late April. Disney said they will announce one soon. A soft opening will begin on March 28.
