Disneyland is kicking off their 60th anniverary Diamond Celebration with all-new shows, parades and other entertainment, but one of the coolest parts of this celebration is the artwork that the park will be coming out with.
Disney announced a new ‘Decades’ artwork collection today that will focus on specific decades throughout Disneyland history and will highlight the achievements the resort had during that specific decade.
“What made this collection so special for me was the opportunity to create specific pieces of art that represented key moments over the past sixty years in Disneyland Resort history,” said artist Jeff Granito, “especially from a stylistic approach. In the initial piece, I wanted to capture the excitement and optimism of Disneyland during its first ten years. For many, it’s the first moment of discovery into new worlds and magical lands; where else can you have the atomic age of Tomorrowland, meet the whimsical touches of Fantasyland. For me, it was a dream come true.”
A new piece of artwork will debut about every 60 days during the Diamond Celebration that will appear on apparel, home décor, pins and more.
Keep your eyes peeled, there will be a diamond-shaped icon in each piece.
