Six Flags Great Adventure announced today that for the first time ever, the park will be open on weekends and select days from late November to early January for what they are calling “Holiday in the Park.”
The park will transformer six areas of the park into a winter wonderland featuring thousands of lights and holiday entertainment, Santa’s village and other holiday events.
The park also promises “the iconic smell of fresh pine and crisp peppermint filling the air,” a tree lighting ceremony and, regardless of the weather forecast, “a touch of magic will ensure that snowflakes fall gently every evening.”
The last time Six Flags Great Adventure did anything for the Christmas season was back in 2002 and 2003 when they had a drive-through Christmas light experience.
Rides that will be open include SkyScreamer, Carousel, Big Wheel, Parachutes and Tea Cups, and the Nitro, Batman, Green Lantern, Superman, The Dark Night and Skull Mountain roller coasters.
Pricing for the event has not been determined, bit Six Flags did mention that it will be cheaper than the normal admission to the park. The event will be free for season and annual pass holders.
