As if the $460 million Skyplex area was not already massive enough, the developers now want to add a 350-room hotel to the already sprawling complex.
This is on top of the already existing attractions and experiences, including a 570-foot coaster, a 50-foot drop tower, a zipline attraction and a shopping complex featuring the world’s largest Perkins restaurant, all situated at the corner of Sand Lake and International Drive.
Details of the on-site hotel are still scarce and we should know more in the coming months as to what the hotel will feature.
The whole Skyscraper at Skyplex is scheduled to open in 2017.
There is going to be an open meeting about the project at the Orange County Convention Center District conference room on May 6 at 12 p.m.
There is also talk of a new pedestrian bridge allowing for tourists to travel easier and safer between the intersection of I-Drive and Sand Lake Road, which will hopefully be kicked into gear once this complex begins construction due to all of the traffic it is bound to bring in once complete.
We will keep you posted as we hear more!
