The Richard Petty Driving Experience will be closing later this month as Disney prepares to demolish the speedway that has been at Walt Disney World since 1995.

Once the closing was announced, rumors began swirling as to what Disney has planned for the property.  Talk from a new north entrance for Walt Disney World made their rounds as well as parking expansion.

It looks like these documents confirm that Disney will be expanding the Magic Kingdom parking lot to accommodate more vehicles.

Reedy Creek filed the plans to state as to what their plans are with the area where the Walt Disney World Speedway once stood after it is demolished.

No word on whether or not the iconic Mickey Mouse retention pond will be spared during the demolition.
