Shanghai Disneyland announced all sorts of new details about their park earlier this week, one of which was a Soarin’ type ride called “Soarin’ over the Horizon.” This new take on Soarin’ will feature new HD footage, a new soundtrack and apparently new scents when it opens next year in Shanghai.
There are several reports that the Walt Disney World version of Soarin’ will also be receiving this new version of the ride. The new version of the ride will focus on international landmarks from around the world, including England, France, Italy, Egypt, India, China and Japan.
A third theater is already under construction at Epcot to accommodate the long lines that Soarin’ has been plagued with since it opened.
These changes are rumored to take place some time in 2016 at Epcot.
There is currently no talk of Disneyland’s version of Soarin’ to get any sort of makeover, although it did get an HD film upgrade.
We will keep you posted when we hear more.
