Disney announces even more Star Wars additions and changes for Walt Disney World and Disneyland

Disney continued the Star Wars announmcements at D23 Expo today after the HUGE Star Wars Land announcement with even more Star Wars goodies.

Star Wars Launch Bay will be a unique behind the scenes experience at both Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park.

The area will feature special exhibits and peeks behind-the-scenes, including opportunities to visit with new and favorite Star Wars characters, special merchandise and food offerings.  Star Wars Launch Bay will share the space with the reimagined Super Hero HQ at Disneyland, which will be opening later this year.

Disney also announced the “Season of the Force” event, which will be a new seasonal event happening at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.


The event will take place in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park and will feature special entertainment throughout the land, themed food locations and more.  Disneyland will even be giving Space Mountain a Star Wars layover with Hyperspace Mountain, in which guests will find themselves thrust into a X-Wing battle.

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests will close out the event with a Star Wars themed fireworks spectacular.

Star Tours at Hollywood Studios will also be getting new additions featuring segments from Episode VII.

Finally, Jedi Training Academy will also be updated with characters from the hit show “Star Wars Rebels.”  This will take place at both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
