Disneyland is gearing up for one of its biggest expansions in years, and in doing so, the park has announced that a few ride will be closed during construction for a short amount of time.

The attractions that are being closed are Disneyland Railroad, the Fantasmic! show, the Mark Twain Riverboat, the Sailing Ship Columbia, the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes and the Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island.  Big Thunder Ranch, Big Thunder Ranch Petting Zoo and Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree will also be closing to make way for the new expansion

Construction is scheduled to begin on January 10th on the new Star Wars Land coming to Disneyland.  The entire expansion is going to take up a whopping 14-acres of land in the park.

Over on the east coast, Walt Disney World continues to make changes at Hollwood Studios as the park gears up for their version of Star Wars Land.  The park announced that this will be the last year for The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, which is rumored to be where Star Wars Land is going.

We will keep you posted.
