Even though construction is still in full swing, Walt Disney World officially changed the name of Downtown Disney to Disney Springs yesterday during a special ceremony.

A new restaurant also had its official opening yesterday at the new dining and shopping area called Morimoto Asia.

The Disney Springs makeover was originally announced back in 2013 and has been under construction for several years and should be completed by late 2016.  Another big change still under construction includes an I-4 exit specifically for Disney Springs.

Some of the new shopping venues coming include Lilly Pulitzer, Uniqlo, Edward Beiner eyeware, Pandora, Tommy Bahama and Zara.

A new NBA Experience is also in the works which will feature dining and an NBA retail area.  This will be replacing DisneyQuest.
