The Incredible Hulk Roller Coaster is officially closed at Islands of Adventure for lengthy refurbishment

The Incredible Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure to close in September for major refurbishment

The Incredible Hulk roller coaster closed at Islands of Adventure yesterday as the resort prepares to give the coaster a major overhaul.

The ride is expected to be down for several months as major enhancements and improvements are implemented on the coaster.

What is exactly happening to the ride?  Universal has been scarce on the details so far, but some of the rumors include new trains with on-board audio and lights, some track work to make the coaster a bit smoother, and apparently the theme of the ride will coincide with the Avengers Hulk character instead of the cartoon Hulk character.

When we hear more details as to what exactly Universal is doing with the Hulk coaster, we will bring them to you.
