Universal announced today its plans to build their largest park yet in Beijing, China.

The park would be located in the east suburban district of Tongzhou and will cost an estimated $7.98 billion (50 billion yuan).

This will be the sixth Universal theme park to be build and the third in Asia, alongside Singapore and Japan.

The entire project is so massive it will have to be split into phases, the first of which will be the Universal CityWalk retail-entertainment complex and a hotel.  The second phase of the project will include the theme park, a water park and five additional resort hotels.

The entire project is scheduled to be complete in 2019.
