Soarin’ at Epcot is arguably the most popular ride at Epcot with lines easily reaching 2 hour waits on peak days.

Disney announced officially today that the ride will be closing on January 4th to undergo the knife.  The ride will be down for a lengthy time, rumored to be reopened by summer to not only add a new film, but to make ride improvements as well, including the addition of a third theater to accommodate the insane wait times Soarin’ experiences.

The ride will reopen later in the summer as Soarin’ Over The World featuring scenes from multiple destinations filmed from around the world.

Soarin originally opened at Epcot back in 2005.
