The first reports of Monorail Yellow being stuck started coming in around 3:30 p.m. on social media and local news.
The monorail lost power and guests were stuck without air conditioning for several hours as crews began to evacuate the monorail cars.
Reedy Creek and Orange County Fire Rescue were on the scene by 5:00 p.m. preparing the monorail for evacuation after it could not be restarted.
Once completely evacuated, the monorail will be towed back to the garage. Disney will perform whatever repairs needed and test the monorail to ensure guest safety.
This is not the first time the monorail has gotten stuck while traveling. It happened earlier last year in July and August when a lightning strike disabled the monorail for several hours and guests had to be evacuated.
There is no word on what caused this monorail to get stuck on Saturday. No injuries were reported.
