"Hunger Games" theme parks in the works for the U.S. and China

If you’re a fan of the Hunger Games movie and have been wanting to step into the world of the Hunger Games, you may just be in luck.

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. confirmed Monday that a new theme park is in the works for both Atlanta and China.

“This is going to be a first-of-a-kind park,” Avatron Park CEO Dave Garrett said. “It’s going to be totally interactive, immersive. It’s technology and entertainment. Those are the two critical words that we have to answer correctly each time we look at something.”

Some of the rides include a roller coaster that will be designed to resemble the movies’ Capitol trains and a simulator attraction that will send guests through the world of Panem.

The park in Atlanta is going to cost a reported $750 million once completed and is scheduled to open in 2019.  The China park is scheduled to open in late 2018.

And no, there won’t be any fighting till the death at these parks.
