Pandora – The World of Avatar is scheduled to be completed in 2017 at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and we still have yet to learn exactly what is going on inside this new area. We know there will be two main attractions, a simulator ride and a boat ride.
The D23 Expo is going on over in Japan right now through the weekend and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek gave us a few more clues to the puzzle as to what we can expect inside The World of Pandora on the Disney Parks Blog:
Pandora – The World of AVATAR will bring a variety of new experiences to the Park, including a family-friendly attraction called Na’vi River Journey. The adventure begins as guests set out in canoes and venture down a mysterious, sacred river hidden within the bioluminescent rainforest. The full beauty of Pandora reveals itself as the canoes pass by exotic glowing plants and amazing creatures. The journey culminates in an encounter with a Na’vi shaman, who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora and sends positive energy out into the forest through her music.
It sounds like we are going to be getting a rather compelling water ride at Animal Kingdom.
The main attraction inside The World of Pandora called Flight of Passage, is rumored to be Soarin’ type attraction where you are flying aboard a banshee, a creature found within the world of Pandora.
