Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to break records at lightspeed

Disney teases ‘Ambitious’ Star Wars plans in quarterly report

At this point, surely there are not many records left for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to break, unless it is for the slowest grossing film or something similar.

The box office giant continues to smash records left and right and shows no sign of slowing down as people continue to see it two, three, four even five plus times in the movie theater

It was just posted online that the movie has also broken an Imax record for $106 million in just 12 days.  The former record holder was Jurassic World, with $100 million in 18 days.

The folks over at have a detailed breakdown of each record that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has broken, with its previous record holder.

Three out of the top five grossing films came from Disney this year.  This includes Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Inside Out.  Jurassic World and Furious 7 round out the top five.
