With the huge explosion of construction going on at Universal, including Volcano Bay and the new Sapphire Falls Resort, Universal is surely going to run out of land in their current situation. That won’t be the case however, if Universal has, or is on the verge of purchasing 450+ acres in South Orlando.
The theme park resort is apparently eyeing a massive area of land in South Orlando near Sand Lake and Rosen Shingle Creek Resort.
The land is reportedly not yet owned by Universal Orlando Resort, rather it is currently owned by Colony Capital LLC.
Could Comcast be poised to write a check for the massive land plot to expand their theme park presence in Orlando? It certainly seems that way.
One is to ask, what will happen on the the 450+ acres if Universal acquires it? Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is a third theme park. Other discussions include an expansion of their resorts and shopping segments. Whatever happens if Universal purchases the land, they will have a lot to play with.
Several media outlets have reached out to Universal for comment, but have received the cliche “no comment” response.
What would you like to see come to the 450+ acres if Universal Orlando acquired it?
