Sea World Orlando Holding Huge Job Fair This Wednesday

Sad news to report out of SeaWorld Orlando as a  33-year-old Commerson’s dolphin named Betsy has passed away.  The park made the announcement via their Facebook page.

The dolphin was located at Aquatica, SeaWorld Orlando’s water park and was recently relocated from SeaWorld San Diego along with two other companion dolphins.

Betsy was receiving 24 hour a day medical care in an off-site medical pool at SeaWorld.  She was reportedly suffering from gastrointestinal problems and irregular eating habits in the days leading up to her death.

The park will perform a necroscopy to determine the exact cause of death.

The average lifespan of a Commerson’s dolphin is 19 years in the wild.
