‘Fast and Furious 8’ to film in Cuba?
With filming about to begin on the eighth installment of the Fast & Furious series, the filmmakers were recently spotted making a trip to Cube to spot out film locations.
“Universal Pictures is currently in the process of seeking approval from the United States and Cuban governments to explore shooting a portion of the next installment of the ‘Fast & Furious’ series in Cuba,” a Universal’s spokesperson said.
The Fast & Furious film series is well-known for traveling to exotic locations, such as Dubai, Tokyo, Rio de Janiero and more.
It has been almost a year since Cuba and the United States began rebuilding their diplomatic relations, so this may be a good way for the two countries to continue building their relationship.
Vin Diesel just won Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Film at the People’s Choice Awards for his roll in Furious 7. During his speech, he paid tribute to the late Paul Walker.
Fast & Furious 8 is scheduled to be released on April 17, 2017.
Universal Studios Florida is also getting in on the Fast & Furious action with the all-new Fast & Furious: Supercharged attraction, set to open in 2017.
