SeaWorld San Diego announces new “Ocean Explorer” attraction for 2017
SeaWorld San Diego announced today that they will open a new attraction in 2017, intended to give guests a look into underwater life.
The attraction will be called “Ocean Explorer” and will take multiple aquariums, rides and digital technologies and combine them into an attraction the whole family can enjoy.
Guests will board a miniature submarine and will explore sea creatures and their habitats and food sources.
“This newest, fully immersive attraction at SeaWorld San Diego is the next chapter in creating experiences that can create both wonder and curiosity for the oceans,” said Brian Morrow, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment’s vice president of theme park experience design.
The attraction will be located on the grounds of the Animal Connections exhibit and the Circle of Flags area at the park and is scheduled to open in spring 2017.
The shamu show at SeaWorld San Diego will also be returning in 2017 with a more educational presentation. It will be closing later this year and will reopen in 2017.
