Early Wednesday morning, Busch Gardens opened Cobra’s Curse to the media today allowing for a sneak peek at the upcoming family roller coaster.

The new ride, which is located in the Egypt section of the park, will allow guests to come face-to-fang with an 80-foot snake icon, trek over the park’s Serengeti Plain, all while spinning around on more than 2,100 feet of track.

The ride will even feature live snakes throughout the queue while guests are preparing to face the curse.  Some of the species of snakes include Jameson’s mambas, Angolan pythons, rhinoceros and gaboon vipers.

“The snake exhibit at Cobra’s Curse will allow us to combine the best of what Busch Gardens has to offer – animals and thrill rides,” says Jeff Andrews, ?Vice President, Zoological Operations at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. “This exhibit will give our guests an unforgettable experience while continuing the conversation around conservation and education by highlighting the species and their important role in the wild, which is our top priority.”

The roller coaster will feature three distinct areas, a a forward-facing position, backward-facing position, and then the signature element of Cobra’s Curse, the free-spinning position.

Cobra’s Curse at Busch Gardens Tampa will make its debut later this summer!

Stay tuned after the break for photos from the hard hat tour!
