The final Back to the Future ride is closing at Universal Studios Japan

An era is finally coming to close as Universal Studios Japan will be closing the last Back to the Future ride at its park in May.

The attraction, which opened on March 31, 2001, will be the last of its kind after previous versions closed, the first of which was the Universal Studios Florida in 2007 to make way for the Simpsons attraction, and then the Universal Studios Hollywood version closed later in 2007 to also make way for the Simpsons attraction.

No official announcement has been made by the park as to what will replace the attraction.   The attraction is scheduled to be closing on May 31.
