**UPDATE** Since the announcement has been made that Universal Orlando is switching to plastic passes, we’ve done a little more digging to find out details.

There will be three colors to tell the different passes apart, there will be purple for the Power Pass, Teal for the Preferred Pass and Gold for the Premier Pass.

Also, the pick up times and locations have been announced.  Beginning on June 3, guests will be able to pick up their new plastic pass Thursdays through Sundays at Jurassic Park Discovery Center at Islands of Adventure and Café La Bamba at Universal Studios Florida.

Pick up times are from 10AM – 6PM at the above locations.

Since we originally reported it back in March after a mysterious photo appeared on the Universal Orlando annual pass login page of what appeared to be new annual passes, the park confirmed today that that they are returning to plastic annual passes.

A date of June 3 is given at the end of the video, so it appears that on that day current annual passholders will be able to switch from their paper pass to a plastic pass at the parks Group Sales office.

Will you be picking up a plastic pass?
