As if there wasn’t enough construction going on at Universal Orlando, the park has reportedly submitted plans to the city of Orlando for a new hotel which will be located south of their newest hotel, Sapphire Falls, which opens on July 14th.

The new hotel will reportedly be 600 rooms and will be the parks newest resort and could feature a spanish theme if the rumored “Aventura” name holds any truth to the theme of the hotel.

The hotel will reportedly be a “tower” style hotel instead of the wide-spread hotel layout of other Universal hotels, such as Cabana Bay.

Universal has not officially announced this sixth hotel and we will have to wait and get more details from them once it is announced.

With the closure of Wet ‘n Wild at the end of this year, Universal is going to have even more to land to build on.  That land will surely allow the theme park resort to expand their hotel presence even more.  We will have to wait and see what Universal has planned for that land once it closes.

The theme park resort is also in full construction mode on their new water park, Volcano Bay, which opens next year, and is located directly next to the new Cabana Bay expansion.
