Busch Gardens Williamsburg announced today that two new additions are coming to Howl-O-Scream this year, including No Escape, an “escape room” experience with a unique Howl-O-Scream twist, and the Starfright Orchestra, a 12-piece swing band that makes its return to the park after an eight-year absence.
In No Escape, guests are locked in a room and must use clues to solve puzzles and try to escape before time runs out. The physical adventure game, held at the Wilkommenhaus in Germany, located next to the Land of the Dragons, is available only by reservation.
Play sessions are capped at no more than 30 minutes in length, and all participants must be 16 years or older. Each session is limited to six total players per time block. Unless the entire room is booked, groups of less than six may be paired with other players.
Guests at Busch Gardens may recognize the ghostly musicians on the stage at Italy’s il Teatro Di San Marco this fall. The Starfright Orchestra’s band is back together, and it has resurrected its popular music for Howl-O-Scream in 2016.
The 12-piece swing band, featuring male and female lead singers, returns to Busch Gardens after an eight-year hiatus. The show will feature a familiar song list with popular spooky hits like, “I Put a Spell on You,” and “Monster Mash.”
Many members of the original band are returning, making for a nostalgic reunion tour. The shows will run five times every Saturday during Howl-O-Scream.
Howl-O-Scream opens Sept. 23 and runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 30. Busch Gardens opens at 10 a.m., but becomes a seriously scary place at 6 p.m. when the Howl-O-Scream haunts come out.
