With 2017 just arriving, SeaWorld San Diego announced today that they are looking to the future with the addition of Electric Eel in 2018.

The new roller coaster will be similar to the Tempesto roller coaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and will feature a 150-foot high launched ascent with an inverted roll at the top of the hill.  Electric Eel will be the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the park once it opens in 2018.  The coaster will be built by Premier Rides.

SeaWorld San Diego has several new additions coming in 2017 including the Electric Ocean, a new nighttime entertainment experience and Ocean Explorer submarine ride.
