Golden Ticket Awards presented by Amusement Today


The annual Golden Ticket Award winners were announced last night at Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut.

The annual awards feature the “Best of the Best” in the amusement industry and are calculated from an international poll conducted by Amusement Today. Orlando being the theme park capital of the world, usually takes home a few of these prestigious awards.

Here are a few local parks that took home a Golden Ticket Award:

  • Best Marine Life Park – SeaWorld Orlando, Orlando, Fla.
  • Best Halloween Event – Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, Orlando, Fla.
  • Best Dark Ride – Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Orlando, Fla.
  • Best Indoor Roller Coaster – Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Orlando, Orlando, Fla.

Some of the other popular awards include the famous “Best Steel Coaster,” which went to Fury 325 at Carowinds. “Best Wooden Coaster” went to El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.  “Best Food” went to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. And “Best Amusement Park” went to Europa-Park in Rust, Germany.
