“Stitch’s Alien Encounter Character Greeting” comes to the Magic Kingdom

Could the end be near for Stitch's Great Escape?

In the ever-going topic of “What’s going on with Stitch’s Great Escape?” saga, a new twist has been added to in the form of a new sign outside the attraction. The new signage still features the old Stitch’s Great Escape logo, but with some new font added.

The words “Great Escape” have been replaced with “Alien Encounter Character Greeting.” Which gives us the impression that Stitch’s Great Escape will soon merely be a meet and greet for Stitch inside the Magic Kingdom.

Stitch’s Great Escape has had an interesting past. The ride originally replaced “ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter” in 2004 after that attraction was deemed “too scary” for the Magic Kingdom. The ride then operated daily until last year when the attraction switched to a “seasonal” status, operating only during peak times.

We did some poking around and hearing reports that this new Stitch character experience could possibly open by this weekend. This is just speculation at this time and and official opening date has not been announced. We will keep you posted.
