Universal Orlando adds 101 acres to its land arsenal

Huge news today out of Universal Orlando as they have acquired 101 acres near Sand Lake Road, which is near where they already currently own 475 acres, bringing the total land owned by Universal to 576 acres. The new land is located just south of Sand Lake BLVD., which now gives Universal access to the road. To give you an idea of how big 101 acres is, Islands of Adventure in whole is roughly 110 acres.

What plans could Universal possibly have for this new land? There is much speculation of course that this land could be home to a future third theme park, a transportation hub of some sort, new dining and entertainment venues, there is really no limit as to what Universal could do with such a massive amount of land.

With land becoming scarce at its existing location near Citywalk and their current parks, the future is definitely going to be an exciting one for Universal now that they have a huge sandbox of land at their disposal.
