Incredicoaster coming to Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure

Disneyland revealed new details today about the upcoming transformation of Paradise Pier to Pixar Pier. The overhaul will add new attractions and give old ones a new name and theme.

One of the biggest overhauls will be the transformation of California Screamin’ roller coaster to the Incredicoaster. The ride will receive an all-new theme and according to Disney, a “mid-century-modern-style loading area, new character moments and a new look for the ride vehicles.” California Screamin’ will close Jan. 8. to prepare for this overhaul.

Details were scarce, but Disney mentioned that Toy Story Mania! will be part of a “Toy Story”-inspired neighborhood. “Inside Out” will also be featured in this new area with a new attraction based on the film which will be located on the west side of Pixar Pier.

Mickey’s Fun Wheel will receive a new paint job and will now feature different Pixar characters on each of the gondolas to fit in with the new Pixar Pier area. The ride will still retain the giant Mickey Mouse head on the side of the attraction.

All of the midway games along Games of the Boardwalk will be rethemed to Pixar films. This area will close on Jan. 8. Also closing on Jan. 8 will be Ariel’s Grotto restaurant and the Cove Bar, which will be transformed into a new lounge.

Paradise Gardens, Silly Symphony Swings, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Goofy’s Sky School, Golden Zephyr and The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will be transformed into a new area called Paradise Park.
